I installed the comfort connect adapter so it can be plugged in under the pillion seat cowl, saving the hassle of removing the rider seat every time I wanted to put the battery on charge (which is all the time I'm not on the bike).

I have the lead under the seat cover as I only charge it up about twice a month. If I don't take it out in for 1 week it will get topped up overnight. Don't think it needs it but it can't hurt.

same here...Optimate 3 with the quick adaptor under the seat cowl. plug it in whenever not used but then the alarm is only ever switched on when i'm out and about so shouldn't have that much (if any) battery drain when garaged.
