Is anyone here using a workshop lift of any sort and if so, would you share your thoughts with me? I've been dithering between a Sealey MC450 or an Abba Skylift for months - each seem to have their pros and cons.

I like the idea of the Skylift because it keeps the wheels free while the bike is suspended. On the downside though, it doesn't appear to lift the bike very high up. The chap at Abba said that the swing arm point will be 34" above the ground at max height, which only amounts to lifting the whole bike roughly the same as the height of a wheel, and I'd like it higher! On the other hand, a Sealey 450 will raise its platform height to about 810mm which is a fair bit higher.

there doesn't appear to be much else on offer unless I spend £1000 plus, which I'm not!

I use a bursig clone, can't fault it.

Searley gets my vote, I've not long sold my one but it was the 360 model

Me too, though I took out the short box sections inside the legs and welded full length thicker box inside, doing away with the bolts. I made a support to fit in the opposite side of the frame as well.
