Upgraded headlights keep cutting out

I bought some Philips X-Treme vision bulbs. They are still rated as 55W, 12V H7's so shouldn't have a greater amp draw than regular bulbs.


However - after I turn the ignition on the bulbs light up then something clicks from the rear seat area and the bulbs cut. If I wait long enough with the ignition off and try again same thing happens. No fuses have been blown, bulbs are fine. Thought it might be one of the relays next to the main fuse but couldn't feel anything when I heard the click.


Any ideas?

I have those bulbs in my bike and no problems. No idea what it is though.

Can you clarify that the headlight comes back on when you start the bike? if so, then thats what my bike does....so guess its normal?

They all do a lamp check as part of the start up cycle then they go out to provide max current for start up.
