Hi all,

I am in the process of putting project "SMURF" in to operation.

After years of having a trusty cage and (not so) trusty Ducati to roll in/on I have finally found the perfect bike for commuting and living with every day; a 2012 electric blue S1000rr.

Any advice, or general tips will be greatly appreciated.

P.S - I still love my 1098, won't be getting rid of her!!

Puig screen, good crash protection and gb engine covers, pcv race filter and exhaust system and d3 components tail tidy and full belly pan.that all you really need for this bike and get suspension set up for your weight ;)

Welcome,

That's some commuter 'hack' you got there.

For general everyday use I'd go with a taller screen (the standard is shocking), a shock tube (because the back end is going to get covered in crud) and, if your so inclined, some form of crash protection just incase it gets real slippy out there. All common sense for anyone used to riding in all weathers.

Most importantly, enjoy and keep us all updated.
