Hi

Please forgive the lack of etiquette at diving straight in with a first post and no introductions, but I thought that any others in my position would want to know

I took a leap of faith a couple of weeks back and bought an HP4. Leap of faith bit is that the prices aren't released yet, and regardless of what the press and Internet say, BMW would only confirm to Dealers that the price would likely be "the right side of £20k".

Well I got a call from the dealers today, and then an email confirmation, setting out the actual prices that they got confirmed from BMW

HP4 = £16,045 plus £655 on the road charges
HP4 Carbon = £18,695 plus £655 on the road charges

Optionals for either: heated grips = £230, pillion seat/pegs £260

Expected December.

Too right that's a bargain. Proper gutted I didn't know about it when I ordered my standard bike just two weeks before the HP was announced.

If you consider the full Akky is at least a grand (is the HP4s titanium or stainless?) then you are paying about a grand for better electronics, suspension, lighter wheels and decent looking bodywork.

Bollox.

Why not trade it in and treat yourself..
Just write the money off if its what you want

Or make your own better ::)

Think i'll wait for the RCV.... ::)

That will be on par with the cost of the RC30, RC45 and NR750.

Expect at least £40k for one of those chaps. Honda would have seen how well the D16RR sold for Ducati (they made more than originally planned to fulfill demand) and they were only itro£35k when new.

Wait for the RCV by all means. Most of us wouldn't be able to afford it.

I'll start saving ;D

Think I'll just have a cuppa tea and wait patiently for the 2014, when the standard RR model will have the active suspension whistles & bells.

Didnt say i could afford it but, investment?? Cant see it depreciating.... ;)

The RCV will be the one to buy if you want to make some money, the rc45 unused now go for 30k, a used on will sell for 17-20k
Not bad on a bike that was 16k when new.

Desmo's were selling for 30k new and are now up to 36k used.

I dont think the HP4 will make money as its just not special enough. ::)

Hp4 wont be special enough to keep its value,it will be like any other bike 1500 a year loss on value
