did any of you guys come from a cross plane crank r1 to the s1000rr, considering a s1000 but just wanted others opinions, thr r1 has plenty of grunt i imagine the bm will need to be reved harder which i dont really mind as it kind of suits my riding style!

I went from a 2010 r1 to a 2102 s1000rr and think that the s1000rr is better in every way.

The r1 feels massive and heavy and slow in comparison but i would say the r1 was possibly
a little more comfy for your legs as the pegs on the s1000rr are pretty high.

As for the low down grunt i would say the s1000rr might seem a little flatter low down but
has just as much grunt and pulls equally as well from low down in reality. Plus its a lot lot
smoother and no chugging low down like the r1 is

I must get me a 2102 s1k, i bet its awesome!!!!! ;D ;D

Ive ridden a mates crossplane for about 20mins and didnt think it was in the same ball park. Course i may have ben byass ::)

hi mate, came from a 2010 r1 big bang, prefer s1000rr hands down,8000 rpm & above, bmw is ballistic, where as r1 has better low down torque, cant slate r1 as it was a great bike but everything about the bm is better ;D

09 cranker to a 2012 s1000 and have to agree with boys above.
Feels miles lighter, faster turn in, better brakes, 2012 is just as grunty.
It's much easier to ride fast on track compared to the r1. Felt less tiring after 20 min sesh.
Hard On the brakes the R1's arse used to be all over the place. The Beemer lets you brake a lot later, well it does with my meagre talents.
