Hi, looking for input from anyone who took their S1000RR along fo rfirst service only to have an issue with the limiter removal?

Booked my 2011 (dealer pre reg) in only for the appointment to be cancelled due to BMW servers being off line on day of choice - so with work and life getting in the way it was pushed back 2 weeks. Turned up expecting hour or so wait and it took nearer two. First the attempt to remove limiter reset service stuff managed to overwrite traction control code? so had to find a file and then reload it...
Then when checking if removal of reve limit had worked it hadnt. Tired removing it, but as had already been removed - it didnt show as present - then took for a test to confirm was still there - then tried re enabling it to see if could remove then - no joy.
Service people very apologetic and pleasant, but did tell me had happened before and would have to get BMW involved - gave me a loaner (demo 2012 in rizla suzuki blue s1000rr) and sent me on my way.
Incidentally the demo bike has 1300 odd miles on and still has the limiter, maybe due to being demo bike ?

Anyway - any other similar experirences of rev limiter stickiness, or is it just me?
Cheers

Never had this problem but have heard its happened,as for the demo bike, they are all limited. Max speed 125mph.

Cheers Phil.
Update last night was BMW suggested to try previous computer set up (replaced by new kit 18 months ago) but model too new to be reconised so still pending resolution.

Oly had a similar problem on his 2012 bike. It turned out to be his satnav puged into the power socket just inside the offside fairing. It's meant for the laptimer but he was using it to power his satnav. When the satnav was unplugged from the socket the limiter could be removed. Are you using the socket to power anything?

Maybe the 2010's didn't have it,but BMW brought the limit in for the 2011's and you won't get a demo bike to rev past 9 grand, and I did try lol

No chance lol,no bike is too fast for the road,it will only go as fast as you want it to go. It's all in the right hand. Plus you can ride it in RAIN mode if you think its fast, now that feels like 120 BHP lol

I wasn't sure, but maybe the very first batch? I think it's good it has the limiter on when running in anyway. ;)

Hi - problem sorted, did take a couple of days of head scratching at the garage - they tried re booting previous computer kit to see if a previous version sorted it - but to no avail - eventually all sorted and revving freely now so have me own bike back and its all systems gooooooooooooo!
;)
I didnt have anything odd plugged into the loom, only thing I had done was to plug the slick enabler stick in, they tried it with and without but who knows?
Computers marvellous invention :p
