Just got back from the first track outing with the new S1KRR, will do a bit of a write up if anyone is interested but I had a few issues with the bike and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same and have you sorted it? For info my pace wasn't particularly quick, 2:15 quickest lap and consistently in the 2:16/2:17s. Pretty happy considering firat time on a big bike since June, first time on an IL4 since 2006 and first time at Aragon. Great circuit.
Quickshifter wasn't as smooth as I was expecting, seemed to really jerk a lot a 100% throttle upshifts. Chain tension is within range and cush rubbers perfect, any other way to adjust it without the calibration kit?
Vague front end, had a nasty slide at the fast left after the corkscrew chicane. Is it worth investing a bit of cash in the DDC or (as someone has already suggested to me) do I ditch it and but Ohlins/Ktech? I like the ease of adjustment of DDC but tried harder/softer and it didn't seem to make much difference.
Raer tyre wear, destroyed a rear Dunlop KR108 MS3 in about 8 sessions. Pressures were fine so I'm thinking suspension/geometry, again I tried harder/softer and nothing seemed to change. I'm pretty aggressive with the throttle but I used to get 2/3 days out of a rear on my RC8R and they're renowned for killing tyres due to the torque.
Ground clearance at full lean is a bit shit, 55 degrees and boots down all over the shop. Riding style & rearsets?
I didn't really want to spend a lot of cash on the bike this year but the tyre wear especially is going to be a big issue for me. Any help much appreciated.
